Nintendo’s Switch Outperforms Xbox and PlayStation – Sales Report 

The Kyoto-based MNC, Nintendo took advantage of a slow year from Sony and Microsoft dominating video game sales this year. Where both of Nintendo’s competitors are preparing to launch their gaming consoles the very next year, Nintendo seized the moment selling over millions of its portable gaming console. 

The switch released on March 3, 2017, is now over 2 years old, continuing to unveil exclusive releases. Based on the data from NPD group it was found that 6 of the top 10 best selling games in July were Nintendo.

” Fire Emblem: Three houses” released on the 26th of July was the second best selling game of the month following July’s biggest release ” Madden NFL 20 “ launched on the 2nd of August. Madden has always been at the top of the list in the month it was released for over 20 years now and is the best selling franchise of all time.

Following Nintendo’s ” Fire Emblem: Three Houses”, Nintendo’s ” Super Mario Maker 2″ bagged the third spot. Taking advantage of the immense popularity of Marvel’s Avengers, Nintendo’s exclusive release “Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order” earned the fourth spot on the best-selling game list.

7. “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate” (Nintendo)
8. “Mortal Kombat 11” (Warner Bros. Interactive)
9. “Mario Kart 8” (Nintendo)
10. “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” (Nintendo)

The Switch was also the Best-selling gaming console of the month, Though PlayStation 4 remains the Best-selling controller of the year, Nintendo switch surpassed the sales of PS4 in July this year. Seeing the progress of Switch, Nintendo announced to release new lite version of the switch which is scheduled to be released on September 2019.
