Leaked AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3000 32- core Benchmark Reveals Performance Boost

Reports unveiled the entry of AMD Zen 2-based 3rd generation 32-Core Threadripper and it was revealed in the UserBenchmark database, a performance jump compared to Threadripper 2990WX which thrived in multi-threaded workload but lacked single-thread performance.

Back in March, AMD revealed the arrival of new Ryzen Threadripper processor scheduled to be launched after the Ryzen 3000 series, before the end of the year. After numerous appearances in the Geekbench benchmark database, Ryzen Threadripper 3000 series processor has shown up in the UserBenchmark.

Wccftech which spotted the benchmark entry of Ryzen Threadripper, states base and boost frequency of 3.6 GHz and 4.2 GHz which is 600 MHz higher than Threadripper 2990WX. It features Zen 2 core architecture which has delivered an IPC uplift of 15% when compared to Zen+ based CPUs.

The Benchmark States, the chip maintained an average 3.75 GHz clock throughout the test which is a massive improvement compared to the Threadripper 2990WX which has a base clock of 3.0 GHz and clock of 4.2 GHz.

Threadripper 3000 is a huge leap from Threadripper 2990WX

Threadripper 3000 series processor scored 5649 points in 64-core (multi-threaded) test, 1069 points in 8-core, 538 points in 4-core, 269 points in 2-Core and 135 in single-core test, that is a 31% increase in multithreaded performance and a significant 14% boost in single-core test when compared to Threadripper 2990WX which scored 4328 points in 64-core (multi-threaded) test, 885 points in 8-core test, 454 points in 4-core test, 236 in 2-core test and 118 points in single-core test. This score is similar to 35% uplift that was previously observed on the geekbench benchmark. 

AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3000 series is expected to be launched during the second half of 2019, it is stated that Threadripper 3000 series would bring dominant leadership in the HEDT market.

“You know. it’s very interesting, some of the things that circulate on the Internet—I don’t think we ever said that Threadripper was not going to continue—it somehow took on a life of its own on the Internet,” Dr Lisa Su, AMD CEO said during her keynote. “You will see more from us, you will definitely see more. If mainstream is moving up, then Threadripper will have to move up, and that’s what we’re working on.
