With IFA 2019, Europe’s largest tech trade show just around the corner, computer manufacturers are busy upgrading their popular products. One of the most popular computer manufacturers, Asus launches a new version of three of its Zenbooks – One convertible and two laptops that are powered by AMD processors.
Two Zenbook 14 model and one Zenbook flip 14 comes with AMD Ryzen 3000 series mobile processor. AMD Ryzen features Quad-core processor and the processor powering Asus Zenbook would be either Ryzen 7 3700 or Ryzen 5 3500.
The launched Asus Zenbook based on AMD’s Ryzen 3000 series mobile processor include 3 models. The basic Zenbook 14 UM431 DA, the premium Zenbook 14 UM433 DA and a convertible Zenbook Flip 14 UX462.
All the Zenbook feature a 14-inch Infinity-Edge full HD display with or without touch support which covers 100% of the sRGB colour gamut. Zenbook 14 UM433 DA features the thinnest bezels, while Zenbook 14 UM431 DA features the thickest bezels. Zenbook flip 14 UX432DA supports touch work with Asus pen and features company’s 360°-degree ErgoLift hinge.
These Zenbooks are powered by AMD’s quad-core Ryzen processor with integrated Radeon Vega graphics which are paired with 8-16 GB of DDR4-2400 memory, as well as a solid-state drive ranging from 256 GB to 1 TB. Zenbook 14 UM431 DA and Zenbook 14 UM433 DA comes with a 43 wh and 50 wh batteries which works for 12 hours straight on one charge, and the convertible Zenbook flip 14 UX462 DA comes with a 14 wh battery which works for 9 hours on one charge.
IT’S GOING TO BE A TOUGH COMPETITION.
Meanwhile, at the same time, HP upgraded its Pavilion gaming desktops and laptops with options for AMD processor, but with the launch of Intel Comet Lake processor, the bigger news has been about the machines that include this new hardware.
Dell’s XPS 13 and Inspiron is powered by Intel’s Comet Lake processor. MSI too included Comet Lake processor in 3 of its new laptops. These machines are the ones running up against Asus Zenbook model. Asus might give a tough competition with its amazingly thin screen bezels and slender design, but with the 6-core option from Intel’s Comet Lake processor, it is most likely that it would outperform Ryzen powering the Zenbooks.
